December has the least amount of daylight if you live in the Northern Hemisphere. Weather permitting, be intentional about going outdoors for sunlight and stock up on your vitamin D. The December Winter Solstice, occurring on December 21 or 22, is the shortest day of the year in terms of the fewest hours of daylight, usually with six hours or less of sunlight. In the Southern Hemisphere, the shortest day is typically June 20 or 21.
